Had Enough?

I can not tell you how disgusted I am with the politicians who have used the tragedy in Tucson, AZ to further their political agendas. Have you had enough of this crap? I have. People like the Sheriff ought to be ashamed of themselves for taking the opportunity to advance their political agenda during a time of national mourning.

All of American weeps for the families affected by the violence that took place in that Safeway shopping center and all of us are praying for the recovery of Representative Giffords. This is what REAL Americans do. We do not play politics with real-life drama.

Frankly, I think everyone should send an email or letter to Sheriff Dupnik and voice their disgust over his self-serving comments following the events of Saturday. Then the good people of Tucson should hold a special referendum to have him removed from office. Not only is the man incompetent, as is coming to light now about prior warnings his office had about the shooter, but he is a disgrace to America and the people of Arizona.

However, this makes my point about career politicians. They don't give a crap about all of us. They're agenda is to further their own political career and the agenda of their political party.

We need people who would never dare do such a thing in the wake of a tragedy like this. We need leaders and elected officials who are more interested in doing their job and serving the people who elected them than getting themselves re-elected or advancing some agenda.

I certainly hope Sheriff Dupnik loses his job in the next election he is eligible for. As for me, I am going to send him a piece of my mind and I think you should also.

Sheriff Dupnik has become the poster boy for why we need to rid ourselves of all professional politicians and vote people like me into office.

More to come.

  1. I think it is outrageous for you to call for the sheriff to lose his job for exercising his freedom of speech right to voice his opinion. Your stance is indefensible from someone who claims to support the constitution. Not only is it his personal opinion, it is coming from a law enforcement official regarding irresponsible "hate-speech" that he feels threatens the lives and well being of innocent law abiding citizens. I applaud his courage to say what he feels is a contributing factor to violence. It seems to me that YOUR comments about the sheriff are FAR MORE self-serving than his appropriate response to the murders of a federal judge and other innocent bystanders and the attempted assassination of a congresswoman.
How peculiar that your are silent regarding the vitriolic comments from politicians and media pundits that whip up hate and call upon people to take aggressive action. Your stance seems to suggest that you support their freedom of speech...even if it might incite violence...but you don't respect the sheriff's right to comment on this hateful rhetoric that actually calls for violent behavior in some cases. In other instances the hate-speech is so filled with violent rhetoric that unstable individuals could take the rhetoric literally as a call for violent response.
You don't chastise a politician telling their followers "Don't retreat....RELOAD" as they put gun-sight cross-hairs over the person's name.
Your silence at violent rhetoric towards our president and other democrats in the past 2 years suggests that you would support an individual's right to yell "FIRE" in a theater if that person was a conservative.
You claim to have new and independent views, but I see nothing but the same cookie-cutter defense of anything right-wing and the same non-objective response of condemnation of any statement from anyone you perceive as politically left of center.

  2. I am not calling for the Sheriff to lose his job over WHAT he said. I am calling for him to lose his job over WHEN he said it. It is tacky and insensitive to the victim's families to be making political points during their time of mourning. Had he waited an appropriate amount of time for the event to pass (say 6 months or so) and for everyone to move on (or at least try to move on), I would have no contention with the timing.

The Sheriff is entitled to his opinion. Sharing such an opinion at this time is inappropriate if not cruel and irresponsible. He should save his political rhetoric for a more appropriate time. The man obviously lacks tact and class. It was both unprofessional and abusive in my opinion.

And, Byitrite, before you start throwing stones from your glass house, get your facts straight. No on has called for violence except people like Van Jones and big labor leaders and groups like the Black Panther Party. I do not see you condemning those with far-left rhetoric such as your own who are calling for a complete overthrow of our government under the guise of "change". But, then again, I probably should refer to you as Comrade Byitrite, eh?
